About the Experience
What to Expect
This project includes an audition, a rehearsal and creation period, and a final live performance.
Each selected choreographer will present a piece up to five minutes long.
After the performance, we’ll invite the audience to share their thoughts—creating an open, thoughtful dialogue between artists and viewers.
All auditions, rehearsals, and creative sessions will take place at a local dance studio. The final performance will be held in September.
Artistic Support & Development
During the rehearsal process, choreographers and dancers will have access to 2–3 workshops focused on artistic growth. These may include:
-
Choreographic structure
-
Storytelling through movement
-
Artistic collaboration
-
Networking
-
Mental Health
Each choreographer will also receive pre-performance feedback from local dance professionals to help shape and strengthen their work before it hits the stage.
Collaboration & Creativity Encouraged
We encourage collaboration with poets, musicians, and artists from other disciplines. Have a bold idea? Bring it! This is a space to explore, take risks, and push your creative boundaries.
Why We Create
Dance has always been more than just movement—it’s a vessel for grief, joy, memory, energy, learning, and emotions too big for words.
Throughout history, people have danced to heal, connect, resist, and celebrate.
With The Choreographer’s Stage, we’re continuing that tradition by offering a space that’s low-stakes but high-impact—where choreographers and dancers can create, experiment, and grow.
